We have always believed that a rug is the true foundation of a beautiful room—acting almost as a painting for the floor. By beginning a design journey with the rug, you create a grounding element that allows the rest of the room’s textures and colours to fall effortlessly into place.
The birth of these designs is a slow, thoughtful process between Susie, Daughter Anna and Becca. They spend countless hours refining patterns and balancing scales, whether they are working from the quiet inspiration of Wiltshire or sitting side-by-side with artisans in India. This collaboration ensures that every geometric line and colour shift feels intentional before the first thread is even dyed.

The Art of the Kilim
To understand a Kilim is to understand the mastery of the hand-loom. Unlike pile rugs, our Kilims are created through a technical flat-weave process where the horizontal "weft" strands are tightly interwoven with the vertical "warp." We use natural wool yarn that is hand-dyed in small batches, a method that creates beautiful, subtle variations in colour—known as abrash—which gives the vibrant staple pieces their depth and soul.

The team is currently back in North India, immersed in the development of new Kilims and furniture pieces. This hands-on involvement at the source allows us to experiment with heritage techniques, pushing the boundaries of traditional texture to create pieces that are as durable as they are decorative.
Heart of the Village: A Weaving Community
The true spirit of this collection, however, is found in the "Stories from India" that live within every weave. Visiting the villages where our Kilims are crafted is a humbling experience; it is here that you see the breathtaking precision of the weavers, whose hands move with a speed and rhythm passed down through generations.

The craftsmanship is deeply woven into the fabric of the community itself. Rather than working in closed-off factories, the looms are often set up in the open air just outside the weavers' homes. This allows a beautiful, human balance to exist, where men and women can practice their incredible trade while remaining present to raise their families and participate in village life.

When you place one of these rugs in your home, you aren't just laying down a foundation of wool and dye; you are bringing in a piece of this community. It is a celebration of a lifestyle that honors both the art of the maker and the warmth of the home, a philosophy that remains at the very heart of everything we create.
