After eleven wonderful years on Fore Street, we are delighted to share the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Susie Watson Designs has moved to a breathtaking new location on Island Street, Salcombe, marking a significant milestone in our journey within this beautiful coastal community.
For some time, Susie has envisioned a space that truly reflects the scale and soul of our collections—a setting that offers both the tranquility of the water and the room to showcase the full breadth of our handmade furnishings. In this new spot on Island Street, she has found exactly that. With two expansive floors and four times the physical space of our previous home, the new showroom offers a sense of calm and inspiration, allowing us to display our full range of homeware in the heart of Susie’s favourite seaside town.
A Showroom Built for Inspiration
Our new home is more than just a store; it is a curated experience designed to help you visualize how our handmade pieces can transform your own living spaces. We have moved away from the traditional retail feel to create a layout that flows like a real home, inviting you to wander through rooms that feel lived-in and loved.
As you step inside, you are greeted by our Kitchen Living area. At its center stands our statement Kitchen Island, surrounded by the everyday artistry of our ceramic collections. Positioned at the forefront is a large Georgian Sofa, anchored to create the unmistakable warmth of a family hub. It is a space designed for gathering, reflecting the belief that the kitchen is the heart of any home.
From Heritage Interiors to Estuary Views
The journey continues as you are led into the Drawing Room, a space that celebrates our newest design directions. Here, the walls are adorned with our intricate Saffron and Ivory Shalini Wallpaper, providing a sophisticated backdrop for the rich, jewel-like tones of our Autumn Hollyhock fabric. The room is a masterclass in pattern layering, showcasing how heritage-inspired prints can feel entirely fresh and contemporary.
One of the most unique features of our Island Street home is the seamless transition from indoors to out. The Drawing Room draws you naturally toward our estuary-view terrace, a space that perfectly captures the Salcombe lifestyle. We are particularly excited to share that this is one of our few showrooms globally to feature our entire range of outdoor furniture. We invite you to step out onto the terrace, take in the coastal air, and personally test the comfort and craftsmanship of our garden collections while looking out over the water.
